I am using CPU 313c and CP342-5DP(6GK73425DA020XE0) module for profibus communication

Suhas Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I am using CPU 313c and CP342-5DP(6GK73425DA020XE0) module for profibus communication. i have two control panels with same configuration. i want to use one panel as master and another panel as slave. while doing the hardware configuration i have created both the plc's and while adding the slave to the master through configured stations i am not able to get the right configuration of the configured module. the addresses for both master and slave are configured differently. i have installed the gsd files of CP342-5DP module also. Please help me out to solve the problem. Thanks and Regards, Ravindra.

Maybe you could publish a drawing or screenshots? The GSD File is needed if your want to use the CP 342-5 as a DP-Slave with another DP-Master (not a S7 Master). Do you really have such a configuration? Hope you will have some more information Best regards Sabine

Suhas Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am using CPU313C Connected to CP342-5DP(Master) and another CPU313C connected to another CP342-5DP(Slave). I am using CP342-5DP Connected to First CPU313C as Master and another CP342-5DP connected to second CPU313C as Slave. While i am configuring Master and trying to connect CP342-5DP through configured Stations i am getting error message. I am forwarding thesample configuration . Pleas check it and let me know. If you have GSD file link for CP342-5DP Please send me. Please see below the error message i am getting while doing the configuration. ================================ 11/24/2009 1:41:34 PM ================================ Save and Compile (13:4344):The DP slave with the PROFIBUS address 3 of the DP master system 180 has to contain at least one module. But I guess that you want to connect two OPs to a CPU 313C. One of these OPs will control and monitor every thing. While the second OP have the same application S/W. I think your problem is as follows. As the two OPs have the same application software, let's suppose that you have an input field for instance, if you changed it in one OP, you won't see the new set point in the other OP. To solve it, you can make it Input/Output Field. Again, I am gussing your problem. Please tell us here if this helped to solve your problem, or explain it in details. Regards

I want to know the Input Output Addresses we are specifying on the universal module are process I/O's or not. I have done sample configuration and attaching teh file. FIrst both CP are transfering and keeping in their internal data storages. This data storages (area) is copied cyclically to the complete I/O processor area or is read out of the complete I/O processor area. ... I want to know how to address the DPSend(Send) and DP Recieve(Recieve) Blocks.I want toknowhow to address the sent and recieve datain my program and use the data transferred through profibus. In the FAQ section the addressing for the send data is done as P#DB1.DBX0.0 byte5 what does that mean. Whether P refers to Process Input Buffer or how it is. Hulzhex Gold Member Joined: 8/25/2005 Last visit: 10/5/2024 Posts: 1162 Rating: (111)	Hello Suhas, with "P#DB1.DBX0.0 byte5" you said, that from the DB1 the first 5 Bytes should be transferred from the local CPU to the DP-Master (CP342-5) So within your programm you have to copy the data which should be transferred to the slaves within ths data area (P#DB1.DBX0.0 byte5). With your hardwareconfiguration you decide to which slaves this date will be send. Looking at the configuration of the DP-Master (please click at the CP within HW config) you will see something like addresses. Byte 0 will be send to your "output 0", byte 1 will be send to your "output 1", ... Byte 4 will be send to your "output 4". The area of date written at the send parameter must be the same or more then your output data configured within the hardwareconfiguration of your DP-Master. Good luck Sabine

So, in your example DB120 would be DB which will be use for peripheral outputs (from CP slave outputs) and DB130 would be DB which will be use for peripheral inputs (from CP slave inputs). Let's assume in hardware configuration we put one universal module with 16 bytes inputs (starting address 0) and 16 bytes outputs (starting address 0). Into CPLADDR you should put (you already put hex value of CP master starting address) which in your case is 256(DEC)=100(HEX). Parameters DONE, ERROR and STATUS are correct and you could put there variables from another DB or to use the same DBs ... Into SEND you should put P#DB120.DBX0.0 byte 16 and into RECEIVE P#DB130.DBX0.0 byte 16. And now you could use directly with "Load" and "Transfer" all inputs and outputs from slave. Like L DB130.DBB0 , T DB120.DBB0...or with bits this likes like L DB130.dbx0.0 T DB120.dbx0.0 (first input to energize first output...) Hope this will helps. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev
