To me, it sounds like you are creating some library objects for a WinCC Unified device, but you are trying to use it on a WinCC Basic Panel. This will not work as the devices are not compatible. However, if you could provide more information - preferably along with a screenshot - we would be able to give you proper feedback.

Back to my previous post. Could it be that you selected 'Unified Panel / WinCC Unified PC' when you were asked to specify the type of device for which you want to create the faceplate? If you did, then your faceplate is for Unified devices only. You need to select 'Panels / WinCC Runtime Advanced' for your device.

Unfortunately, the icons in the library will be the same, so you cannot really distinguish between them. However, if you look at the faceplate properties and the 'Lowest device version' property, you will be able to tell the difference. Faceplates for Unified devices will have a value, faceplates for legacy devices will not.
