Hi, I have similar problem much because I am a "newbie" too. I had a breakdown in our water treatment plant where the TP170B went balnk and out and needs replacement. No spare TP170B but we have an already configured spare TP177B for another equipment. I know these are compatible replacements but I want answers to these; 1. First, is it possible to communicatec directly with the HMIs via MPi nwithout the PLC? 2. I have an original backup of the plant with the 170B. If I get a new 170B, describe how I will download the project into the TP? 3. I want to use the TP177 now but I cannot even communicate with it. I want to back up the existing project in it(project is for conveyor systems) before I download the curent 170B project into it. Is it possible and how do i do this? I have a similar problem with my network of 313C PLC and TP170B HMI. Our water treatment plant's TP170B went blank and out. No spare is available but I am keeping the plant running by using protool from my Siemens PG ! I have a spare TP177B for another machine(bottle conveyors) which has the conveyor project in it. I know it is possible to use this TP177 in place of the bad TP170 but I don't know how. My questions are; 1). It is possible to communicate directly via MPI with an OP? Pls tell me step by step, how I can so i cant configure this new OP? 2). If this is possible, I want to upload the current project in the TP177B and back itup on my PG for the later use on the conveyors but i cannot communicate with the OP. Tell me how I can connect to it and upload. 3.). I then want to download the current TP170B project that i have a back up of onto the new TP177B. How can I do that? Generally, connection failure error is my major headache here I need to know how I can connect to the Ops from my PG. Attached is a schematic of the current network. Urgent help needed pls !!!!! Hi, If you want to route over the PLC to the OP, you have to dowload from NetPro (configure network button in simatic manager) to the plc. Open NetPro, check if the konstellation shown is what you got in real world, compile, and transfer to the PLC. In WinCC flexible you can use enable routing to get from MPI to ProfiBus. Check this for routing config: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/2383206 Maybe it helps. |
