i have a doubt about memory card

[schnipp schnapp] And also i have adoubt about memory card.When i insert a memory card into the cpu means Stop lamp in blinking continuously( i tried that memory card in 3 different Cpu also) If i insert aworking memory card in my PC when i try to open that memory card it asking "do u want format now" But i easily open memory card whichone is faulty. How can i rectify that problem. Best regards, V.Sundar

Only a PG or a portable MMC reader can read these cards directly. It appears that someone has inserted the 'bad' MMC into a PC and allowed the PC to format it (put a FAT table on it). The card is no longer usable in SIMATIC. I do not know for sure if Siemens offers a reformatting service or not, but it would not hurt to ask. Wish I had better news.

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	If card is formatted in PC it can't be used in PLC - i'm totally agree with weddra. But you can find empty images of Simatic MMCs and put that image to foramtted card via card-reader. Then it should work.

Ayman Elotaify Platinum Expert Joined: 5/28/2008 Last visit: 2/19/2025 Posts: 4518 Rating: (843)	Dear sundar, The MMCs of the S7-300 may be read or written only by the following devices outside the CPU: Field PG Power PG MMC programming adapter (MLFB 6ES7798-0BA00-0XA0) for use with PG 720 or PG 740 USB prommer (MLFB 6ES7792-0AA00-0XA0). Warning: Do not use the MMC for non-SIMATIC purposes and do not format it with a third-party device. This would possibly overwrite the internal structure of the MMC that cannot be restored. In this case the MMC is no longer recognized/accepted in a SIMATIC CPU and can no longer be used with SIMATIC devices Please have a look on this thread. So My recommendation is to order a new MMC specially it's not so expensive. Hope this helps, Regards,

If you get the image from any where, I am sure that Siemens does not grantee that MMC.
