Hello, A little background story, skip to the end if you don't want to read. I work in a small company and our automation guy bought a Siemens Logo! 24CE or 0BA2, I am not able to tell, see pictures below: [snip] It also has some add-on module attached to it. Anyways, due to COVID-19 restriction in my country and a strict lock down in my city (literal curfew) the automation guy won't be able to come in at least for the next 2 months, while I live next doors to the office. Because of this our developments have stopped and the company is taking a hit. I would like to learn more about PLCs and programming them so that I can connect pressure and temperature sensors to it and at least advance our developments. The company has taken a massive hit already and things need to move forward. Can someone please guide me through the process of learning about PLCs and their programming? I have a simple Logo PLC and would like to make use of it. AttachmentLOGO.zip (185 Downloads) |

You could e.g. search for books on Amazon about LOGO! programming. Then on the Internet for YouTube videos. And I can offer you links to Siemens websites: Easy Entry in LOGO! and SIMATIC S7-1200 LOGO! Simply ingenious. Simply more. Tips and tricks (Video) |

Thank you kind sir, I will go though them all and some YouTube videos along with it. I have two questions, could you please answer them please? I am a newbie and it's difficult at my current stage of expertise. 1. Can you tell me what is the latest PLC that Siemens is selling since the Logo was shut down? 2. According to the images I have provided, what is the model number of my Siemens Logo! and what is the addon module attached to it? |

to 1.) The current LOGO! 8.2 is a LOGO! 3rd generation 0BA8. The current firmware version is V1.82.04. LOGO! 8.2 can be recognized by the offset of the identifier in the order number in the middle segment of the order number. The order numbers are 6ED1 052-XXX08-0BA0. to 2.) The LOGO! is a LOGO! 8.1 and in the device selection is a LOGO! 8.FS4. The LOGO! has the FS-Stand04 and the firmware version 1.81.01 (if the firmware was not upgraded). The flanged extension module is an analog output module. It has two analog outputs, each of which can output either a voltage signal 0-10V or a current signal 0 / 4-20mA.

Oh.... I see. I was unaware of that. So if I wanted to power a sensor, for instance I have a MPXV7002DP then I will have to provide a external 5V power source to it? Does Siemens provide an extension module to power the sensors? Sorry these questions are very newbie, I will go and read everything and then I will come back. Thank you. |
