Hi M. Lindh, it is very important to install the Update 3 for TIA V11 SP2: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/58112582 but frankly, the TIA is still very disappointing... The handling is more a handicap, features are less, system is still not running stable. It seems that Siemes only take take care of provide a cheap done but still expensive to buy software. They don't listen to the needs of their customers. I use TIA only if I have to do a 1200 CPU. For 300 and 400 CPU I will use Step7 V5.5 "classic" as long as possible. It will need some more years until TIA "professional" becomes really a professional software, I am afraid. |

Well posting crashes here can only express your internal bad feelings, nothing more. No one are capable of helping with crashes because this is a job for developers, so I'd recommend you to post all crashes to Support Request. In that case it would be at least positive thing and maybe we will have fixes faster. Also you will help others by doing so. |
Best regards, |

OK I understand what you mean. Posting this here was an expression of my frustration trying to work a weekend, without bringing my project significantly forward. Due to constant crashes .. However, since the first vesionen of professional been in regular contact with Siemens but still I find the same bugs .... Sorry for that. |

I have several FBs/FCs that call other FBs/FCs, which in turn call more. I have one FC that no matter how I get it to run, it crashes unless I do not call one specific FC. I comment out the FC and it does not crash. I cannot make even comment and extra line spacing and recompile this same FC without crashing. Any FC calling it crashes, sometimes just attempting to open the FC causes it to crash as the scl editor attempts to reconcile all the references. My suggestion is to comment out stuff and get to compile cleanly, and consistently. Then reboot the system (each crash uses memory and causes future problems). Now that you can compile, you can find out one piece ata time what might cause the crash, then find a different way to solve that problem that does not crash. For example, in my case, if I put the FC code that always causes a crash into the routine that wants to call it, then compile, no crash. Solves the same problem, just not as easily, but I can compile and download, which to me is more important that screenshots. Send the project off to the support request folks and continue working on it until it compiles clean and solves all the problems properly. Yes, it is very frustrating to debug Siemens code while figuring out our own code too! We all here feel your pain. However, try to turn that anger into productivity and you may find your days feel shorter. instead of this and |
