I need to conect CPU313C on modbus RTU (RS485)

PEMA0303 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello. I need to conect CPU313C on modbus RTU (RS485). I bought CP341 (RS422/RS485) and modbus RTU slave 3.1 driver. I installed hardware and loaded driver. I never did this conection befor, so I don't know how to parametrize connection. I read manuals several time, but I am still not sure if everything is OK. I took some pictures from my project and put them in attachment. Can some one give a look and give me feed back. I have problems, because: - Customer will make scada system (modbus master) and I don't have any information about modbus protocol parameters. - I am from Slovenia and customer form Russia. Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (324)	Hello Peter, Modbus communication refers to 4 types of data areas: coils, inputs, holding register and input register. These data types are read and written with defined function codes. Coils: 1,5,15; inputs: 2, holding registers: 3,6,16 and input registers: 4. The Modbus master has to tell you which data types it is going to access or which function codes are used. Even if it expects special register or coil addresses. If you can give me that information I can tell you how to parameterize the Modbus slave. Regards, Kaulquappe

PEMA0303 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello Kaulquappe. First thanks for answer. Our customer made a list of parameters for scada system. For now, scada will only read parameters from machine (PLC). Once in the future they will maybe made a scada system to manipulate with our machine (start, stop, ...), but in that case i will need to adapt programe code. So i decided to made two DBs. I DB200 are parameters for scada (scada will read this parameters). In DB201 will scada write commands for machine manipulation (scada will write this parameters). I have problems with creating data types in DB200 and setting modbus parameters. In attachment I posted first time there is description with pictures. Can you give a look and send me an answer. I don't have much time. Thanks Peter
