It would b of great help.. Hi If the hardware connected to the transmitters and the actuators,so the next step is checking loops before start up.To do so, in field , you can force the transmitter to send 4 to 20 mA to the PLC and check the values for each channel. To check the actuators, you can put the PID control blocks in manual and send manual manipulated values on actuators and check the action of the actuators.(You can also force the AO) Also possible to check the procedure in hardware config (monitor and modify the SM modules),check the attachment. regards Attachment hardwareconfig.jpg (645 Downloads)

Thanks Hello, if you want to check functionality of the module without transmitters & Device. it can be done in two ways. 1) you can check Analog input module by giving V/mA from Calibrator or source meter. To check Analog Output moduleWrite logic in PLC Program using FC106 Unscale Block and monitorV/mA in Multimeter. 2)if you don't haveCalibrator or Source meter,wire the analogoutput module to analog input module.then write a logic in PLC program using FC106Unscale Block toget V/mA at Analog output module and thenuse the same output count of FC106 to the input of FC105Scale Block.

Generating 20%,50%,75% and 100% of current 4 to 20 mA and check it by variable table in PLC. regards

It would b of great help.. Thanks Hello, I want to add something. You can test the modules also without transmitters or actuators. Just prepare Unscale function (FC106) in your software for each AO channel and Scale function (FC105) for each AI channel. Then connect an AO channel directly to AI channel. And force a value to AO using the input value of FC 106. Then you should read the same value on the AI channel. But let us know, why you want to check the analog modules, could you please tell us your problem here or if you have a doubt from analog modules?

Cauz the customer/Consultant shall object if you try forcing or using looping of AO and AI and giving the command. Take care that you source is also calibrated as they (Customers/Consultant) ask for certficates for the same. have fun....

gre_m Posts: 947 Rating: (45)	You can use AO module and its output to signal to the input of AI. To test the efficiency of the module that is enough. To assess the accuracy needed calibrator and reference meter. If one of the modules is certainly good, it can be used to check on the performance (efficiency)of another.
