I tried Step7 on Windows 8.1

I've tried to install Step7 on Windows 8.1 (don't ask me why please :s) I followed the guide i found here (/tf/WW/en/Posts/95674) changing the "supportedOS Id" code with the Win8.1 one. Obviously, it makes me problems.. when i start the pc i get this error (ErrorStart.jpg) and if i press abort, continue or ignore nothing happens (so we could say it's the minor problem) but using the software if i open any drop-down menu and then i move the mouse in a submenu i get an error (like MouseHover event) and Step7 crashes with the error "SIMATIC Manager has stopped working" (ErrorStep7.jpg) and if i press debug i've "Exception win32 not handled in S7tgtopx.exe [10872]" (ErrorDebug.jpg) Does anyone know how to solve the problem? Step7 version: 5.5 SP2 x64 PC specs: Windows 8.1 Professional System x64 Processor Intel Core i7 RAM 16GB Thank you, hope someone can help me Attachment Errors.zip (225 Downloads)

ChristophD Grandmaster Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 3/20/2023 Posts: 21352 Rating: (2819)	Hello, the first error is from s7DOS, you can disable the PNIO on the networkinterfaces in the PG/PC Settings in the Windows Control panel. The second error: try to start the Simatic Manager with the option "Run as Administrator". An update the Installation to SP4 of Step7 V5.5 ;) Regards Christoph

So, yes, SP4 Approved! =D

Enrique Mico Posts: 48 Rating: (4)	Hello, I installed OK step 7 5.5 sp2 2010 following the guide previously mentioned, and when tried to install the service pack SP4 on windows 8.1 pro 64 bits, I found a problem is that no setup.exe and no *.msi is on the installation just a single file of 1.6 GB, so I can't modify it with the sentences allowing the new S.O.
