Is it possible to access IE PB Link Profibus IOs from PNIO port of S7417-5H CPUs and shall I get redundant configuration in this case? Please refer attachment. AttachmentD:\Temp\IE PB Link & s7400h.zip (97 Downloads) |

Yes
NO (sorry). Put simple, the IE PB link does NOT support so called Profinet "System Redundancy" (only the IM 153-4 does support this at the time of writing). System Redundancy means that the IO Device is capable of having a communication relationship with both H-CPU's. Without this, you can only use the IE PB as unilateralI/O" (i.e. the IO devicebelongs to only one of your H CPU''s). Have a look at Configuration Examples for S7-400H with PROFINET SIMATIC S7-400H as of V6.0 for more on what can and can not be done as far as System Redundancyis concerned. Please note though that MRP can be used with H-Systems too, but is a totally seperate thing to System Redundancy (in other words, just because you can have the IE PB link connected to an MRP ring via a switch and it is physically reachable by both H CPU'sdoes NOT mean it is capable of having a logical IO device related connection to both H CPU's). I hope this helps |
