Hi all, I'm on my first project on TIA Portal V13 with a S7-1515. I would like to use an IEC TON TIMER (like I did hundreds of time in Step 7 !!) I do a clock by connecting the inverted state of output Q in the input parameter of a TON timer. But the result is not a "1" at ouptur Q each time the timer is reached, but the output Q is active at a random rate !! To view this I put a counter increased by the output Q. ==> See the printscreens of the code and the trace Remark: it's the same bahaviour when I connect a variable at the output Q. I did the same in Step 7 V5.5 with a S7-315, and it works perfectly (the ouptu Q is activ each time the timer is reached) ==> See the printscreen of the code What's wrong ! That's catastrophic if we can't rely on a simple timer in TIA Portal... :-( Thanks Pascal PS: and it's catastrophic how much TIA Portal crashes when online... And I thought it was my misunderstanding. I simply got in the habit of putting a N.O. with the timer.Q output on the NO contact to pass the signal of the Timer to another bit. That's some interesting trivia that makes my work-around make sense. ...ENA...........TMR_DB.........TMR_DB.Q......TMR_DONE ----| |--------[ IEC_TIMER ]------------| |----------------( )-------- Then use TMR_DONE as you would naturally think of TMR_DB.Q That's what I have been doing since V10.5 of the portal. It was the only way I could get consistent results. Now it's habit. |
