IEC61850 project in PCS7/Step7

Machonish Posts: 64 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I am doing a project on substation in PCS7. there i need coommunicate with IEC61850. Here we using S7/PCS7 to IEC61850 via TCP/IP Add-ons. I have went through its documentation but unable to communicate PCS7 with IEC61850 device. Does anybody having any sample project on this, which i can refer to do my project. Please help Thanks in Advance

Machonish Posts: 64 Rating: (0)	Hi mike J, We are trying to communicate with SIPROTEC relay. At present we are trying to communicate with single relay. And we are having PCS7 inbuild IEC61850 Library. There we are trying to configure FB564. But unable to configure string to that FB. Thanks in Advance

Use IEC Browser, a free software for browsing any IEC61850 device, and check if you can see all structure inside Siprotec. http://siemens.siprotec.de/download_neu/software/IEC_Browser/IEC61850_Browser.zip Install and open this software, click on the button Connect and insert the IP address of Siprotec. Be sure to disable firewall (if you are in an isolated network) or allow IEC Browser and port 102to access ethernet. If you can see a tree with several information - Logical Devices and Logical Nodes - it means your device is readyto communicate. What PCS7 will do is the same procedure as IEC Browser does: browse for information inside Siprotec network card.
