Hello, I have an application where I need to take data from a meter through a protocol converter and store it into a DB in a PLC. I have successful done this with a CPU416 and CP443-1 combo, however, I need to do it with a PCS7 Box PC that has a CPU416-PCI installed and uses "IEGeneral" as its communication port. This I have not been able to get set up. My device is a Red Lion protocol converter (see attached) and there are settings forCP343/443 ethernet card but nothing for using a standard ethernet port. I am not sure if it is possible for this protocol converter to work on a standard ethernet port, they have not tested a set up like this. Might anyone have an idea or suggestion on getting IEGeneral to work when configured with CP443-1 settings? Thanks. AttachmentTNOI34.pdf (89 Downloads) |

Hello, hmmm... the CPU 416 PCI is not really one of the latest ones... but I think I found something that might help you. The following FAQ shows a S7-Connection on Ethernet, it might help you in your case because your designated device allows the use of S7-Communication... as far as I see it. Access to string variables of the CPU 41x-2 PCI via OPC Hopefully it gives you an idea how to get this configuration to work. Best regards J_Bell |
