The work memory cpu 1200 1214 is about 98% full. If I use an external memory, will it decrease the work memory?

Hi,

there is no external "work memory". Only the "load memory" can be extended due to the use of an SIMATIC Memory Card.

The "work memory" is always internal and can not be extended.
You have to optimize your program or use another CPU with more work memory.

The only thing you can check, is the used firmware version of your CPU.
With firmware update 4.6, there were optimizations for the alredy existing internal memory overall, to be able to use more of this memory as work memory.
If you use an older firmware, maybe you can update to V4.6.
