IM 154-8 PN/DP CPU

Raednabeel Posts: 96 Rating: (7)	Hi, Can I use the PN port on " IM 154-8 PN/DP CPU" device to communicate with S7-400H station via SFBs , i.e. can I use it as industrial eathernet linke instead of its basic functionality as profinet IM ? Thanks in advance for any help. BR

Hello Raednabeel While I haven't done so myself yet with the 154-8 PN/DP CPU, it surely will have to possible. Have a look at chapter 3.2 of itsmanual (which you can download rom HERE)and you'll see that you have plenty of communciation options. Please note that the 154-8 PN/DP CPU belongs to the S7-300 family which means that you must use the FB's (NOT SFB's) for any S7-communications that you program in it (i.e. GET/PUT, BSEND/BRCV and/or USEND/URCV). In your 400 you will however have to use the correspondingSFB's. I hope this helps
