IM151 Hardware Config Problem.

Hello All,

Not sure if this is a network problem or a hardware problem. I am trying to add a 4DI and a4DO to an exsiting profibus drop, but the 4DI is causing a fault on the IM151. I know it is probably something simple that I am doing, but I just cannot seem to find the problem. Below is a hardwarelist:

Im151(6ES7 151-1AA02-0AB0) exsiting

PM-E(6ES7 138-4CA00-0AA0) exsiting

2AI(6ES7 134-4FB51-0AB0) exsiting

4DI(6ES7 131-4BD00-0AA0) exsiting

4DI (6ES7 131-4BD01-0AA0) being added

4DO (6ES7 132-4BD02-0AA0) being added

I am unsing backplane:6ES7 193-4CB10-0AA0 for the two new modules. The exsiting backplanes are a different model, but this is what I have in stores. Could the backplane cause this?

Step 7 V5.5 + SP2, rev K5.5.2.0

If I add just the 4DO to the hardware config, there are no faults, but as soon as I add the 4DI mondule I get bus faults on the IM151 that point to the 4DI. I havemoved the 4DI to the end of the rack and theerror folows. I have switched the 4DI module with the other, but the fault does not move. I have switched the backplanes around with no change either. I have let the hardware config assign the inputs and output address, to make sure thare is not a conflict.

The fault codes from the IM151 is:

SF & BF flash 3 x slow

BF flash 3 x fast

SF & BF flash 3 x fast

BF flash 4 x slow

Per the manual, this means "The configured structure of the ET 200S does not match the actual structure of the ET 200S. I have had a second set of eyes look at the hardware config and we are both at a loss as to where the problem is.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I swapped the two 4DI modules and the new module is working with no problems. I have recomplied the configuration and redownloaded several times. I am at a loss of what to try next. The fault follows the new 4DI configuration even if it is the old module.

Thanks again for the replies. The machine is running with the orginal configuration. Next Tuesday, I will be able to get the machine and install the hardware again. I will get the online / offline screen shots you asked about then and post them.

The termination module used with the new hardawere config is the same module that is currently working.

I will update Step 7 to SP3 before Tuesday.
