I am trying to do Firmware Update of IM153-2 via Field PG.

I am Connecting the PG directly to IM153-2 but which PG-PC Interface i need to select in Simatic Manager?

Please specify which settings needs to be done in Simatic Manager?

Hello Dinesh,

the settings in the PG/PC interface is dependent on the driver which is installed in your PC, example "Intel(R) Centrino (R) Advanced-N 62…".

 Hi 

1. Online firmware update via STEP7 HW Config:

1. Download the desired firmware file.
2. Extract the files.
3. Select the corresponding ET200M station in HW Config.
4. Program the firmware by selecting in the program menu: "PLC > Update firmware".
5. Select the directory with the firmware file in the directory and start the firmware download.

The download process is not visible on the IM153-2. After successful download, the new firmware can be started automatically or with power off/on.

2. Online firmware update via SIMATIC Manager:

1. Download the desired firmware file.
2. Extract the files.
3. Connect the programming device with the stream to which the ET200M station is connected.
4. In SIMATIC Manager, open the 'Accessible devices' view and select the station address.
5. Program the firmware by selecting in the program menu: "PLC > Update firmware".
6. Select the directory with the firmware file in the directory and start the firmware download.

The download process is not visible on the IM153-2. After successful download, the new firmware can be started automatically or with power off/on.

I've took this information from Firmware update for ET200M IM153-2 HF (6ES7153-2BA10-0XB0), probably is not exacly your IM153-2, but the proccess is the same!!
