Dear All; While I was configuring project components, I was confused by two products: and Is there any difference between the two IMs rather than the outdoor extended temperature for "2BA70"? I have attached the technical data comparison sheet. AttachmentIM153-2.xlsx (260 Downloads) |

There doesn't appear to be any difference other than the temperature range, as you have stated. Not sure why the description states "INTERFACE DP/PA-LINK A" - the technical data clearly shows it has a DP RS485 interface. The two even have the same Profibus ID. Regards, Craig. |

Hello, I think the other difference is that IM #1 is only able to work in DP mode. The second one can handle (or can be used) as PA interface as well. That's the only difference i can see. Regards |
Keep working! |

Hello Khaled, There's a small difference. The outdoor version supports extended fieldbus diagnostics.
Bear in mind that it's a complete system. You can't have such extended diagnostics without the AFDisD.
If you don't have these AFDisD (quite expensive by the way) and you don't need extended diagnostics then you should use the non-outdoor version. I've been using non outdoor version for all my projects (IOs, Y-Link and PA networks) without problems. Best regards, H-H |

Dear all; Thanks for your contributions. It is now clear that both modules can be used with IOs, Y-Link and PA networks. the only difference rather than the extended temperature is what H-H has put his hands on:
When I read the IM 153-2 Manual it just state that:
The extra information that was mentioned by H-H is found in EFD manual Hope that this information be updated in the product technical data and manuals |
Best Regards |
