IM308C problem

Dmitry123 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello! Couldn't you help me to resolve some problem with IM308-C. I have a system with CPU944, IM308B and number of ET200U with DI/DO modules and 2 empty slots at Profibus. I need to replace IM308B with IM308C with the same configuration. But I have a problem. I copy configuration of the net from COM ET200 to COM Profibus with the same addresses and modules and new IM. But each one module which place before empty slot is not work (others do). I think that the problem is firmware of IM308B but Im not sure. What may be a problem?

IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (999)	There are some older modules, that can NOT work with COM Profibus since V5.0. In this case, you must replace this modules.

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 10/7/2024 Posts: 3024 Rating: (1054)	Hello Dmitry123 I fear you fell prey to an oddity of COM Profibus, good news is that fix below should do the trick (copieddirectly fromConfiguring an ET200U always with an even number of modules) "For correct operation of an ET200Uyou must always configure an even number of ET200U modules in COM PROFIBUS. *If necessary, the last module in the ET200U has to be configured as a blank module."* I hope this helps
