Hello!

I am trying to access Unified Comfort Panel on browser over Sm@rtServer. Therefore I configured a webserver certificate for panel in wincc unified certificate manager. However when I try to import it on panel, I get the message, that it was successfully imported, but the certificate is not shown on the panel.

Does anyone know where the problem is? Did I do something wrong?

I don't know if there is a problem. All i know is that you don't need a webserver certificate for the SmartServer. Are we talking about SmartServer or the new WebServer for the panels?

Hi,

did you try with https? You should at least get to the point with a warning message from your browser, that the certificate is unknown for you local device. Depending on your settings you then can advance to the page.

The SmartServer is accessed with the SmartClient.exe and not with a browser. It is installed with your TIA Portal. Else you can download it here:

Make sure you did activate it correctly and set the passwords. No encrypted communication is supported.

If you face more problems, what Image do you use on your Panel?

I can easily access panel with the SmartClient.exe, but we would like to be able to access it by browser. I have tried with https and also with http and it does not work ... If I type https://IP without port number I get to the siemens page that says:

did you donwload a user management?

did you activate the WebClient in the Control Panel? Only possible with V17 Image!

We are using v16.

I have not downloaded user management, did not know I need it... It was never mentioned that I need it for remote access... Maybe there is the problem. Could you maybe tell me what I need to do?

I want to access panel with smartserver and browser by typing IP address of the panel and port number in Internet Explorer, I believe this is possible? But it is not working ... SmartServer is enabled on panel and both passwords are set.

 As i told you, you can acces the Panel by browser if you active the Edge Management, but there is no use for it because you will not see the Visualisation! It is not possible in V16!
