I have a faceplate with 2 problem with indirect adressing:

1) In my faceplate I have many internal Tag bool NOK_0_1, NOK_0_2, NOK_0_3 ...

In my script I write:

For j=1 To 16

If…. then

SmartTags("NOK_1_"& j &"")=True

else

SmartTags("NOK_1_"& j &"")=false

End If
Next

The script is compiled without error but in runtime I have an error Tag NOK_0_1 not exist!!!

Why?? The tag name is good

I have the same problem with array of real in input of may faceplate

dataN(i) = SmartTags("Properties\Data.MeasureN["& i &"]")

First you wrote tag name NOK_0_1 then NOK_1. But building tag name is like building a string

"something" & VBtag

I don't know much about faceplates and can not test now. But in general.

You can not use variable for index with every data type or structure, For example i can't index array of string with variable. With string array you need to multiplex array if you want to iterate through it in a script. Multiplexed tag is connected to PLC array.

Sometimes i have had to make hundreds of HMI tags and use for loop to build tag names and assign values. like you in first example. 

Any array inside structure is non iterable via variable. There is probably some ways to achieve same result.

If you change variable i to some integer and it works then you know that it wont accept variable as index. 

dataN(i) = SmartTags("Properties\Data.MeasureN")(1)

Or some other variation.

EDIT:

Syntax is this dataN(i) = SmartTags("Properties\Data.MeasureN[i ]")

It just won't allow variable indexing, because it is in UDT struct. This works fine. 

dataN(i) = SmartTags("Properties\Data.MeasureN[0]")

dataN(i) = SmartTags("Properties\Data.MeasureN[1]")

Dynamic tag naming might not work in faceplate scripts either even though it works in "normal" scripts. So this SmartTags("tagNameBeginning" & i) might not work.

doesn't work too.

For me indirect adressing doesn't work in faceplate..
