Deckard78 Posts: 102 Rating: (1)	Hi, I have a question about the usage of FC125 for Profibus diagnostic. I don't understand the value of the parameter DP_MASTERSYSTEM; is it the Profibus address of the MASTER DP (in fact the address of my CPU 315-2 DP), or is it the number of MASTER DP nodes present in the net (so if I have 1 CPU 315-2 DP, many IM153-1 its value is 1).

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 6/1/2023 Posts: 12030 Rating: (2594)	Hello deckard78; Siemens seems to agree with you that this parameter is important and confusing, because they insist on it in the Online Help for the diagnostic functions for Profibus (FB125/FC125): Parameters of the FC 125 and their Meanings Input parameters CHECK_ACTIV (Bool) Evaluation is activated by User. The activated bit can be composed cyclic or in other blocks (i.e. OB82, OB86, OB100 and occurrence-driven). EXTERNAL_DP_INTERFACE (Bool) Indicates whether the master DP interface is an integral interface (master CPU =0) or an external DP interface (CP/IM =1). DP_MASTERSYSTEM (Int) Here, the number of the DP master system configured with STEP 7 must be specified. DATA_FIELD (Any) z.B. P#DB100.DBX0.0 BYTE 50 Data field for internal block processing. The data type must be Byte. The size of field is not less than 50 Bytes. The data field is not user relevant. Look at the attachment, it should clarify the issue. I wasn't aware that it was also used for Profibus-DP diagnostics (the name might have something to do with my misconception).
