Initial Output Values

Hi GabrS7,

To write some initial values into the PLC program, you can use the startup OB. This organization block is executed only once at startup and before any other organization block.

Depending on the output modules used, it is also possible to configure the outputs to use a substitute value of 1 when the PLC is in stop mode, or to keep the last value. By default, the outputs are turned off when the PLC is stopped.

 So, probably to have initial values i should insert a "First scan" inpput with move values to variables?

Hi,

for some modules you can choose the output parameters and Reactin to CPU STOP. There you can use a substitute value.

For other cases without PLC STOP you have to program some logic for yourself.

I intend not to keep the last value but to set one defined at the start.

In Omron system i find in the global variables table a column named "Initial Value"

I will try with Startup OB like Stefan said....

to clarify, i meant that the device has no such functions, it is a profinet module that has no settings, its a Thirdy party device imported with GSDML.

The setting I meant can be found in the properties of the module - but this only applies to CPU Stop - otherwise proceed as Stefan suggested.

if I could say my opinion and also what you need pay attention to also. Generally. You can do that init of outputs inside OB100 without problems but you need to know next procedures depended to this change of signals, I mean next code flow after that outputs will be set as your value shows. There can be also already in startup OB some code what can easy change your expected output signals set. Next what I want to say is generally network state, simply your network can be faulty for a while and your outputs will have no effect. Do tests for more expected logical situations what can be actual.

In our case is not a problem if there is temporary fault network.

The only one things we need is, after PLC boot first time, the value for example QW200 -> 16#20.

It does not count if there is no network in the initial phase.

The other option we found was to insert a "first scan" bit input into OB1 in the first code branch and then use the MOVE function to move the values ​​inside QW200, but it seems too cumbersome if we think to do this on many more variables
