My aim is to read/trigger the alarm message even it's binary bit is '0' in the beginning. Cos, when i first startup the WinCC program, I wanted to see that all my binarytags with'0' valueare reportedin the alarmmessage as "OPEN" kee

Two possible options : - have a script run when the system starts up to check the tag values and trigger the alarm if it's 0. This could take a long time if you have a lot of alarms. Also I don't know what it would do to for subsequent alarm state changes. - have the PLC somehow transfer these "dummy" messages to WinCC. I don't know if either of the above are viable solutions. My gut feeling is that this cannot be done. Anyone else ?

I've seen that kind of feature in iFIX before... but in that case the alarms were generated on negative edge, so when runtime was initiated all tags were in 0, so all messages were triggered. Are you sure that is necessary? At least with the applications in which I saw the thousands of alarms triggered at each start gave the operator extra work, since he had to switch to the alarms screen and acknowledge them at each start.

My gut feeling is that this cannot be done. Anyone else ? So I think you'd have to use one of Salma's suggestions! How many messages do you have? For few messages I've seen a system where a status screen was created for all circuit breakers, and their status were animated with little LEDs, instead of using the alarm messages...
