cannonpm Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I have 0BA7 12/24 RCE with the DM16 24/R and AM2 installed in that order. I will be using the 8 inputs on the 12/24 RCE as DI. I have one AI that will be connected to the AM2's I1. My question is how the LOGO! will see the inputs. My assumption is that I1 through I18 in the software will correspond to I1-I8 of the 12/24 RCE and I9-I16 in the software will correspond to I1-I8 of the DM16 24/R. And then therefore, the AI1 should correspond to I1 on the AM2, correct? Thanks.

cannonpm Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I will set the flag to use only two AI's so that I1/I2 are set for DI. But I do not wish to use I7/I8 as AI, but only as DI. I need to use the expansion module AM2 for the AI because the signal is a 4-20mA. The manual states that I7/I8 can only handle 0-10V for the AI. My issue then is that the manual says that I7/I8 can be used as either DI or AI; they are set to this mode in the circuit program. I have written the circuit program so that I7 and I8 are used as DI (i.e. I used the make contact tool instead of the analog contact tool). Therefore, it would seem that I7 and I8 are now set for Digital In mode. Now, when I connect my 4-20 mA sensor to terminal I1 of the AM2 expansion module, can I now access it by referencing AI1? Or do I still need to assume that AI1/AI2 are "lost" and have to use AI3? Thanks.

realpower_ir Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Hello Cannonpm, If you already set input number 7 and 8 as digital inputs at your software, so on your AM2 module, the first input of AQ2 would be your first analogue input Ai1 at software. And please don't forget that Siemens recommands:In order to achieve an optimal and fast communication betweenLOGO! Basic and the various modules, they recommendthe structure “Digital modules first, then the analogmodules”. GoodLuck

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, if you don't know how to use analog inputs, then with LOGO! 0BA7 it is very simple. In LSC V7 open: Tool; Transfer; I/O Status In the following selection please be sure that analog Inputs are enabled. Then chage the value on your analo input and watch the table. In the top of the culom you will find the right AIx. In general Mc Muffin is right. A LOGO! 12/24 has 2/4 onboard AI's. If you change nothing 2 is specified. So the first AI of the AM2 is AI3 (becaus AI1 and 2 are onboard and can't be disabled). Hope this hepls

Enclosed you would see a snapshot of page 26 of officialpublished LOGO! Manual by Siemens. As member Cannonpm said, he assigned first eight inputs for digital applications, and he has installed an AM2 module to achieve analog signal in. So he wants to know what is the correct number for the first analog input at LSC software? According to the attached photo, I believe the correct number of analog input (which is located on the first terminal of AM2 module) is 1 (AI 1).
