Hi, reading this: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/87133851/usage-of-s7-1200-memory-card?dti=0&lc=en-WW Actually I have a 1200 PLC on site WITHOUT the Memory Card. If I transfer here in a Memory Card the updated software and I send it to the customer, he will plug it in the PLC (powered off) and the PLC when powered On should be updated, am I right? -> I'm not talking about "transfer mode" but the "classic" normal mode of transfer to a Memory. Second question is: to transfer the software in the Memory Card do I need a 1200PLC or can I just plug it in the PC? I have also a ET200SP PLC here available for testing in the office, but I don't know if it's ok to use it to download the software in the memory. Thank You |

Hi. The link you offer should already answer your questions. The card is inserted into the SD card reader of the PC and configured to "transfer mode" card type. The program is then copied into the card as indicated as shown by the link you provided. With the card inserted in the PLC when it boots up, the program is transferred into the PLC. It is important that the card is removed before the PLC boots up again. Alternative transfer methods available.. do follow the link given by Ste39. Does this answer you? w |

No... :D I already understood the "transfer mode", as I specified I would like to use it like a "normal" SD card to put in the PLC and leave it plugged in, so the transfer mode procedure it's not what I want to do. Is there a way to save the software inside the SD without a PLC 1200 available here in the office, send it to the customer and then he have just to plug it in, power on the plc and nothing more. He want to keep it plugged in the PLC, not to plug in and the plug off. Lets say he wants to have the software on the SD so that the PLC work just with it and not without, and in case of broken PLC he just need to plug the SD in a new PLC. |
