Install WinCC Flexible Runtime on a Windows XP embedded system

Tmansilla Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm a user of a demo copy of WinCC Flexible 2005 SP1 that I ordered to Siemens some weeks ago. At the same time I've working with a Windows XP Embedded image for create an embedded image. My question is: could someone explain to me how to install the WinCC Flexible Runtime in the XP embedded system? I want to do this configuration to start a project I have made with WinCC. When I create an image for my hardware and I add the WinCC Flexible 2005 Runtime directory to it I can't start any project. I recieve always the same advertise when I start "Option package ProAgent not installed". Could you tell me if this is a problem about my Runtime compilation or about my project? Thanks for all. I tell you the steps I follow to test the WinCC Flexible Runtime: -First of all I install a windows xp professional and then the WinCC Flexible Runtime application. -Then I get the basic configuration of the PC and with this I create the wished image of XPE in a directory. -Into this directory I copy the folder that contains the WinCC Flexible Runtime in the same path. -Finally I copy the all XPE files into a CompactFlash and try the XPE image. When I try this it's when I have problems to start the WinCC Flexible. Could you correct me some steps to compile in the right way the system? Thank you in advance. Tomás Mansilla

Tmansilla Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi, ok I'm gonna explain you the best way I think. I hava a standar PC with Hard Disk and with a CF-to-IDE adapter. In the Hard Drive I have an XP Professional with the minimum system and a few tools like Windows Embedded Studio, SQL server, etc. To create the Windows XP Embedded System, I start the regular XP embedded and create the image of the XPEmbedded which I store on a folder of my Hard Disk. Then I copy all the contents of this folder and put them into the CF. The system works perfectly. Until here I hope all the steps are the same for all. Now it's when start the hell, because I want to include the WinCC Flexible Runtime into the image of my XPEmbedded. I want to know how can I do it. The first thing I tried was install WinCC Flexible Runtime into my Hard Drive, in the XP Pro system, after this I copied the directory that contains the WinCC Flx. RT into the same path of my XPE image. This didn't work. After some attempts, I decide to come here and pray some help. Thanks in advance. Tomas Mansilla
