The installation of Siemens S5 Software on my Siemens Field PG M6 got unfortunately destroyed (I accidentally let our IT department install an antivirus SW on it). I have an installation CD, from which I tried to install the S5 software from scratch. The installation went well, but now, when trying to start the software, I only get the splash screen for S5, the DosBox screen flashes in the background and the S5 software does not work. We use the software because we still have a couple of important machines based on the S5 PLCs here...

I think there's some issue with the DosBox config causing DosBox not able to read proper config prior launching the S5 software. I could not find where these config files are even located or how to configure the environment and there's no documentation regarding the matter. Has anyone here any idea how to make the S5 working again? I do really hope I won't need to reinstall the whole computer from scratch...

The computer is the Siemens Field PG M6 with Windows 10.
