Installing TIA WinCC v13 SP1

Hi guys,

Today I installed TIA WinCC v13 SP1 (all the updates included).

After installation I got:

Software licensed :Simatic HMI -WinCC Professional -see attached .So far so good

Since I'm still excepting the hardware to come , I wanted to simulate a project I've already developed .First thing I noticed was that the Runtime button was disabled , so I couldn't use it.Don't know why!

Anyway ,I've used the 'Start Simulation' command using the mouse .After a few seconds , the runtime session displayed a message saying'Too many tags(powertags) have been configured.WinCC Runtime Advanced 128 Powertags v13'. Which is strange because:

1- I've sign up for a Professional Runtime license(512 powertags) , and not an Advanced Runtime with 128 power tags.

Below is the product description I bought and installed:

2-I've checked and I'm using only 22 power tags (process tags);less than 128 power tags anyway .

What I did next , I verified if the  Professional Runtime license(512 power tags) was installed and it wasn't and neither the advanced runtime license!-see attached .

And this might explain why I got this message .

Now , since the item I bought (6AV2103-0DA03-0AA5) says it has included Advanced Runtime and Professional Runtime(512 power tags) Licenses , why the I can't see them as being licensed .

During WinCC v13 SP1 I haven't got any error messages .Please see the attached pics .

Hello,

it looks that you have not installed WinCC Professional RT , only the WinCC Professional Engineering.
So the RT Button is disabled and only simulation active.
Simulation is always called advanced an doesn't use any installed licence so the message for the powertags already ok in simulation mode.

Which devices you have projected in you project?

For WinCC RT Professional you need Licence and Software like
6AV2105-0DA03-0AA0

6AV2103-0DA03-0AA5 doesn't include the WinCC RT Professional and doesn't include the licence for the WinCC RT Professional.
If you read the description of it then is writen:
"FOR CONFIGURATION OF SIMATIC PANELS, WINCC RUNTIME ADVANCED, WINCC RUNTIME PROFESSIONAL (UP TO 512 POWERTAGS)"

With you SW Package and Licence now you can projecting WinCC RT Professional with a max of 512 Powertags, and thats's the only thing you can do with it!

The devices I'm going to use are 3 TP1200 Comfort Panels . Each one ,as you know , has its own runtime license built in . The WinCC Professional SP1 v13(6AV2103-0DA03-0AA5) is compatible with the Comfort Panels and can configure the TP1200 without any other additional RT license.

The reason I bought the Professional version of TIA-WinCC was that I took in consideration an eventual further project which will imply SCADA  applications . Now , for the upcoming project (SCADA wise) I need to consider of buying an RT license as well ,as you advised .I wasn't so sure about that ,that's why I've asked.

The RT button being disabled it makes sense ,as you advised .

However , before installing WinCC Professional v13 SP1 , I used Step7 V13 SP1 to configure a basic panel and I didn't get any message saying 'Too many tags have been configured ' when I was starting in simulation mode .Now,when I replaced the Basic Panel with TP1200(all the old screens from the Basic Panel have been kept) I got the message every time .Is is a way of getting rid of this annoying warning ?

Hello,

it looks that the Simulation for Comfort Panel use the Runtime Simulation which are installed with WinCC Professional.
The Basic Panels use a "RT Simulator" a other Simulation part like the comfort Panel.
If i removed my WinCC RT Licences then i also get the message like you.

So you must install a WinCC RT Licence to clear this message.

I presume that when I'll be online with TP1200 the message will disappear .

Hello,

if you run it on a physical Panel then no problem.
This messages only occurrs in the Simulation Engine.
