castrohe Posts: 20 Rating: (1)	Hi, I try to install WinCC 6.0 SP3 in my computer. When I try to install, it appears the error (deactivate firewall), I read the manuals about this, and I don´t understand what it goes wrong. Can someone help me on this? Thanks.

Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	It sounds like you are running Windows XP SP2. As Stefam says, you can deactivate the built-in firewallin Control Panel.

castrohe Posts: 20 Rating: (1)	I´ve already desactivated the firewall in the control panel, but the problem persists. If I install the WinCC in a PC with Windows 2000, there is no problem. I don´t understand why it don´t install with the firewall desactivated. So what can I do to desactivate the firewall? There someything else that I should do?

See faq http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21927774for information. NOTE: Hotfix 2 is mandatory if you have WinCC V6 SP3. Secondly, do all the other components install correctly? Such as Microsoft Message Queueing, Microsoft SQL Server. If so please ensure you have rebooted the PC after these installs. Finally, at what stage of the installation do you get the error?

The installation stops just it starts and the error is like "Operation system of WinCC under Windows XP SP2 has been released for WinCC clients with deactivacted firewall only. You must deactivate the firewall manually" Why the error persists?

When I press OK the installation carries on. I think it is a generalwarning and not an error. What happens after you OK the message?

khicontiti Posts: 32 Rating: (0)	Halo I don't know How do you install WinCC V6 into your PC? I thinkyou should read the "readme file" first, which is in WinCC V6 disk. And the Picture as you attached, that is not problem. You click OK button to continue installation progress. Best regard khicontiti
