Integration between S7 and WinCC V11

I cannot imagine your pain in still using V10.5 .... :( That said, You may want to install XP mode and run your V10.5 inside the VM and install V11 in main windows system. If you have WinCC V11 (SP2) and Portal V11 SP2, they will work together automatically. The RT V11 SP2 Professional should also play nice with portal. Just be sure you have the latest firmware in your PLC (that relates to the hardware level - it may be 2.2 for the original hardware release). Also ensure the latest service packs and updates are applied to each component that makes up the portal package - Step 7 V11 SP2 update x, WinCC V11 SP2 update x, RT Prof V11 (SP2 update x?). I do not have any recall about having V10.5 and V11 at the same time. I think you can only run one version, either 10.5 or 11 on the same machine. By using a virtual machine (XP Mode), you can run V10.5 inside that VM and V11 on your regular computer. I hope this makes sense.

Indeed a sound choice... not to struggle with TIA V10.5. Please make sure that you get updated up to TIA V11 SP2 Update 5. Also I suggest to ensure that all hardware update packages are loaded. I think somethink like HSP026 is an added requirement. Please note that TIA V11 will not handle the S7-1200 firmware 4.0 PLC... only the TIA V13 at the moment does that. Some other S7-1200 series hardware might also pose a challange. Feel free to revert back to us if you having issues. Greetings. w
