Integration of S7-300 application in PCS7

Up to now, I was living quite a normal, cool life with Step7, WinCC, WinCC flex, drives, motion control,TIA, .... But, as life changes, I have received afollowing demand: - a retrofit of older system (DC drives + S5 controller) with modern drives&controllers&panels - autonomous work of this system (winder, unwinder, 2 additional drives, synchronisation, paper tension control, visualisation, safety,...... all together, nothing special, "a peace of cake"). But today, I have found out, that I have to offer also an optionfor - integration of this (new, retrofitted) system into existing PCS7 system, if possible(Version 6.0!). Now, I do not know, how to go on with this, what is the right approach. (I appologise in advance, if my questions are "dumb", but as I said, my life was completely perfect without PCS7 up to now, andI am searching for some shortcuts, as a lot of us often do this days... - Should I proceed with this as a normal (non PC7) project, and at the end integrate that into PCS 7 as "smart peripherals" (of course with help of PCS7 experts)? OR - Should I startin PCS environment allready at the beginning and then perform integration in larger (existing) PCS7 project? OR - Is there another way to do it? (so called "3rd way"...)? Any tip/trick/link/advice highly appreciated! Have fun! uel123

I have decided to proceed in following steps: - AS: Application for S7 300 will be developped and applied completely separatly from PCS7, as a stand-alone project. - OS: Application for OS will also be developped separatly, as stand-alone WinCC V6.2 project. Connection between AS and OS will be TCP/IP. - OS integration: tags, messages and pdl files will be integrated in existing WinCC project, part of PCS7. Screen navigation will be corrected with existing wizzard; group signalls wil be programmed with c scripting. Sincerely yours! Slavko
