In this project I intend to use a PLC siemens S7, 6ES7315-2AH14-0AB0. I could inform you if with this model I can have the communication, I would have to buy some additional card or I should change the CPU model, the only limitation is that it is S7 300.

Your CPU model is supported  by both versions of S7 programming, Step 7 v5.5 (Classic) and Step 7 v13 (TIA Portal). Since you have little experience with S7 programming, you might want to start with the newer software, TIA Portal.

Now for the second aspect of this project: what experience do you have with Modbus RTU?

On the S7-300 platform you would need to purchase a serial comm. processor CP 341 with a loadable driver (and dongle) for Modbus RTU master. This is quite expensive.

Or you could try with this driver proposed by forum member Tibi68, which allows you to use a CP 340 (less expensive) and the driver is at no cost. But support will only come by messaging with Tibi68.

MODBUS RTU MASTER FOR CP340/341/441-X (NO DONGLE REQUIRED) 

A third option exists, using a serial CP 1Si for ET 200S (Profibus slave module), we canlook at it if you need, it results less exensive than the loadable driver but requires a small Profibus-DP network.

In all cases, I recommend you start with this presentation by member smiffy, it describes the main pints of Modbus RTU communications, and it has been helpful to start newbies on modbus and as a refresher for programmers with basic understanding of the Modbus protocol.
