Internal parameters visible/accessible from HMI

I have a quick question with regards to setting up this view on an IPC 427C.  I've tried a few times to setup the "Assigned Graph DB Tag"  and it keeps finding it to be invalid.  I have enabled the "Internal parameters visible/accessible from HMI" and as in the example project that was provided I selected the "OFF_SQ" input tag from the DB.  I have tried this with 1516F CPU, a 317-2PN/DP CPU, and the WinAC RTX on the IPC427C.  From these three different configurations I was only successful in getting the DB Tag configured on the 1500 plc.  Is there a limitation that I am not aware of; or am I just configuring something incorrectly?

Any Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Few More details now that the topic is split:

I am trying to get the graph overview object for a WinCC Professional RT to work.  What is  really strange to me is that the Graph Overview will Aquire the name of the DB and show the DB name on the screen object; but the tag remains as invalid.
