Internal System Error when compiling DB block

Tuando279 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I have project using S7-1200 1214C, TIA Portal V11 SP2. My program has structure: -FB 1 wrote the process for 5 tanks. I use some Array variables in this FB. - FB 2 call FB 1 with multi instance ( Tank 1... Tank 5). -In cyclic OB30, I call FB2 with IDB2. When compile program, an error occur with IDB2: "Internal System Error (error code BI:3). Please contact with Simatic customer support" I dont understand what is error means because in project I have several Fb Called with multi instance without problem. Please help me how to solve it. The solution is to set to retentive, at least to FB's that you are calling. In main FB the Set in IDB can coexist with retentive and non-retentive, as long you don't plan to change parameters on HMI, then there is another mess. TIA =totaly mess up. At time I got this, I spent two days on the battle field, now when I came home I don't have energy to write to Siemens, I was waiting for somebody to step on this minefield.:)

Late Platinum Member Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 3/9/2025 Posts: 2705 Rating: (321)	Hi, I had also some trouble with a migrated project, after checking the code, I found that there was a comment before the interface of FB's that where called and where as instances into the mentioned DB. To get this ok, I made a "Copy as text" and take out the comment that was before the inteface. Compiling again and then there whas no error mentioned by compiling. So check all SCL-code before migrating to TIAP, all DB's with instances of the FB's will get the mentioned messages in the datablocks.

I had FB which had one single instance DB, at some point I had to change something in UDT which is used inside FB, after change in UDT this compiler error started to appear. Deleting or adding FB static variables, changing FB properties, and copying FB to the previously working version didn't solve the problem. Problem solved by creating a new FB, pasting all the code and compiling. Odd thing was that if I delete instance DB and leave block call code, after compiling instance DB is recreated automatically and compiler error pointing to that instance appears again.
