Hello khoa; I can suggest you start by looking at information provided in the PCS 7 portal webpages: PCS 7 portal: system Overview: http://www.automation.siemens.com/w2/automation-technology-system-overview-4525.htm PCS 7 portal docshttps://www.automation.siemens.com/simatic/portal/html_76/techdok_simatic/pcs7_71_techdoku.htm#erst I suggest you start with the First Steps and Getting Started manuals before you look deeper. PCS 7 is a distributed process control system based on S7-400 PLCs, Profibus I/Os, integrated WinCC SCADA (using Ind. Ethernet comms)and specialized programming languages (CFC and SFC), But it is an integrated whole, larger than its components. The documentation suggested is a great way to gather basic information, and also a superb reference for someone who has worked with PCS 7. But if you intend to startyour firstPCS 7 project, nothing beats the Siemens training classes, or working with someone with experience in the matter; you will need the headstart to save much development time and errors. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier. |

Hi khoa
as well as dchartiersaid, PCS7 is integrated system with own language and libraries to develop project. PCS7 uses mostly same HW used from S7 but with restriction (compatibility and diagnostics feature). Instead development between PCS7 and S7 is quiete different, in add to dchartier link, have a look for these too SIMATIC Process Control System PCS 7 Getting Started - Part 1 (V7.1) SIMATIC Process Control System PCS 7 Getting Started Part 2 (V7.1) Hope can help Regards |

Hello khoa; If you need more information on S7-400 CPUs, independantly of PCS 7 applications, have a look at the Siemens Controllers Portal (on the section designed for S7-400 CPUs): https://www.automation.siemens.com/mcms/programmable-logic-controller/en/simatic-s7-controller/s7-400/cpu/Pages/Default.aspx Notice that in the section named "S7-400 CPUs in detail" you will find 3 sub-families of controllers: -S7-400 standard CPUs (without a suffix, e.g. S7-416-2DP) -S7-400 Fault-Tolerant CPUs, with a"H" suffix (high-avality or redundant CPUs, e.g. S7-414H) -S7-400 Failsafe CPUs with a "F" suffix (e.g. S7-414F) Additionnaly, you can have a failsafe/redundant CPU application, such as a S7-414H/F. Enjoy! Daniel Chartier |
