Invalid file format for .Net controls

$Andrey$ Posts: 29 Rating: (1)	Hello, I create custom .Net controls for plotting curve line over a few points and i can use it in another .Net projects. But when i select this control for add to my WinCC project a get next message "Invalid file format for .Net controls". What is a reason of this message? I find information aboutWinCC ControlDevelopment, may be i get this message because i need this option? This is my first experience creating custom control for my scada and i think this is very powerful tool, are there any special manuals for creating custom controls? I use WinCC v11 Advanced and Panel PC IPC 677C to my SCADA. Thanks in advance Andrey

I don't know the answer, but do you have a .net control that does already work in Siemens software? if you can look inside a .net control that does work, can you see what kind of formatting it is expecting in the code? maybe you can change your .net control with a few new lines of code. Can you give it to me for example? Best regards, Andrey Sorry, I don't have any, only ActiveX controls, and even those I don't really know what I am doing. Maybe support knows? I would also be interested if this will work.

zarta Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Make sure you target .net framework 3.5 or lower in your solution. Higher does not seem to be supported.. Make sure you use a Windows Form (User)control WPF controls are also not supported.. greetings

Gold Member Joined: 6/3/2014 Last visit: 9/26/2024 Posts: 660 Rating: (194)	Hello ms_ing, I'm not sure if this is a newer version of the page in the linked manual, because K!ke didn't say which manual, but here is a bit regarding the topic from the WinCC Professional V13 SP1 manual: "Managing own controls" https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109096785/71010105099 Like the title says it's only about managing the controls, not about creating them, but it contains a note on .Net controls in WinCC Runtime Advanced, which you can find in another chapter in the manual, too.
