I have basic configuration between PLC Simatic ET200S which is IO Controller and non Siemens device - Octopus switch. Mainly issue is inside STEP7 configuration of PLC, because when I am going to ONLINE configuration on STEP7 I have information that status of IO device is not available (Octopus). Therefore on Octopus switch I have mentioned that Application Relation is not active (which should be).

We double checked Octopus configuration to eliminate problem there and we are 100% that Octopus is configured well. 

Question is, where I could take a look and where in configuration could be the problem?

What is more, we have two more same configurations (which are in different places, running separately) and this issue is not appearing. When we are going to online overview, we are able to see that IO Device is available and on Octopus device there is information that AR is active.

Someone could have idea where could be the issue?

I am newbie in PROFINET and PLC infrastructure, please understand my lack of knowledge.. :)

If I will have opportunity to check one more time STEP7 I will try to give you some screenshots..

I guess you have set an IP Address and a Device Name in your IO Device?

Hello,

Yes IP addresses are obtained automatically from IO controller.. And the same with Device name. To be honest ping in subnet is working without problem between all devices.

Are you using TIA Portal or Step 7 v5.x?

Please try to check if IP Address and Device Name are right in IO Device?

We are using STEP7 for that configuration.. As far I know we are not able to use TIA portal because there is version compatibility issue..

Device name and IP addresses seems to be OK, as I wrote configuration is almost same like on other devices which are in different places. 

We as well tried to verify Device name like here:

but we were not able to find it.

On picture above you have some device names as example, but in our case we have blank window and we are not able to find anything.

When you try "Edit ethernet node"

You can browse. But then you find nothing?

When you are searching, it search for MAC Addresses, perhaps it is blocked by virusscanner or firewall.

But we are not using any firewall or virus scanner in our machine network where we have PLC.

Wizard, we are not able to see any device when we trying to browse and search in Edit Ethernet node. Seems that if we have added device to Hardware and it is connected it will not find it? Or even if this device is added already in environment it should find?

It should find all devices. So you can see if the IP Address is correct and the right Device name is configured.

So I think your PC is blocking the search for MAC Addresses.

Please try to use Primary Setup tool,
