I'm new to TIA Portal and IO Link so I hope somebody can help me.

I'm trying to use IOL_DEVICE to write device parameters to an IO-Link device. I don't know if I have misunderstood something, but isn't it possible to make the IO-Link master to remember these parameters, and automatic download it to the device, as soon the device (sensor) have been replaced?

I'm using following hardware and software:

Siemens PLC S7-300 (CPU 319-3 PN/DP)

IO-Link master: CM 4xIO-Link (6ES7 137-6BD00-0BA0)

Program: TIA Portal 13 SP1

Device: BALLUFF sensor (BCS012P)

I have used PCT for configuration and it seems to work, I can go online and write parameters and read process data. 

I have used IOL_DEVICE from Siemens IO-Link library and this seems to work as well. 

I have following configuration on the IOL_DEVICE:

ID = 32, CAP = 227, PORT = 1, IOL_INDEX = 60, IOL_SUBINDEX, LEN = 0.

When RD_WR is on read and REQ is 1 I get 2 bytes in RD_LEN, I also get the right data in my watch table corresponding to the data from PCT. 

So my question, is it possible to make the IO-Link master remember the parameters assigned in PCT and automatically download it to the device, as soon as the device is replaced with a corresponding device? Without using the TIA Portal or PCT again? And if it is, how do I do it? Do I need to use some other function blocks?

Also what is the difference between IOL_DEVICE and IOL_CALL. Will it be better to use IOL_CALL in my case?

I have read everything I could find on Siemens page and also talked to support from different companies, and people say different things so I am very confused with this topic.
