IOT 2050 Advanced Faulty

JeanPaul_S Regular Member Joined: 5/12/2020 Last visit: 10/19/2023 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Good morning , I am trying to work with an IOT 2050 advanced but I can't get it to work properly. I have recorded the official example image and the STAT LED does not blink even waiting several hours, it does not boot the operating system. The STAT LED does not turn red either, it does the same with micro SD card as without it. The operating system simply does not boot, nor does it give me Ping to 192.168.200.1 port X1-P2. I connected a monitor to the IOT 2050 with Displayport and it asked me to configure several things like language, type of keyboard, country etc etc very strange .... I have tried with an IOT 2050 basic and it works perfectly with the same micro SD, flashing the STAT LED and gives ping. And if I don't insert the micro SD the LED lights up in static red. Is the IOT 2050 advanced defective or can I do something to fix it?

The IOT2050 Advanced comes with pre-installed Industrial OS on the eMMc. The eMMc is set as first boot device, so it will boot every time to this Industrial OS. That is the reason why you can't ping the device and the STAT LED does not blink. The IOT2050 Basic does not have the eMMc, thus there is no Industrial OS pre-installed. The first boot device is the SD card --> boots from SD card with example image. More information about the IOT2050 Advanced with Industrial OS can be found in this pinned thread. So the configuration appearing on the display is not strange, but usual :) Best regards!

bergmanu Platinum Expert Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 12/5/2023 Posts: 3297 Rating: (369)	Hi, either you use the UART cable to change boot order or you configure the Industrial OS and copy the fw_env.config file to /etc. Using UART needs a serial putty connection, there is no keyboard and display necessary to be connected to the IOT2050 (but of course to your PC running putty). The other way doing it via IndOS requires a display and keyboard connected to the IOT2050. Best regards!

Because I modified things in IndustrialOS without following the manual and I want to reset the operating system to configure it following the commissioning manual. Thanks

I am using putty. In the Idustrial OS terminal it says : no supported key exchange algorithms preauth And in putty : software caused connection abort. As ssh is not working I can't copy the fw_env.config file and change the boot order to reinstall industrialOS. What could be happening?
