IP tool didn't show CPU type !

xuanphu Posts: 146 Rating: (0)	I have a new S7 1200 CPU with product code : 6ES7 212 1AE31 0XB0; S ZVDZUD6YEC017700..firmware 3.1 I can chang IP fot this CPU easily by TIA portal V12 ..and I can download to PLC normally..But when I use IP tool software to check...it just show the code of this CPU..don't show CPU type (CPU 1212C DC/DC/DC) as my own CPU 1214C or 1215C before ? Pleae tell me...any problem for this CPU (1212C) ? Thank you very much !

Jeff Rowland Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello Xuanphu, I believe the CPU is not reachable from the PC because the PC and CPU are on different networks. On the main screen, please select the network interface cardyour CPU is attached tothat has the word "auto" in the name.This will allow a compatible IP address to be created on your PC on the same network as the CPU. You should be able to make a connection. Can you tell me your PC and CPU IP address and subnet mask. The following example has the PC and CPU on different networks because the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 requires the first 3 parts of the IP address must match. PC= 192.168.1.10 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 CPU = 192.168.0.10 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 When auto is not selected in the network interface card, the PC and CPU must be on the same network.
