Is it possible to link microsoft sql sever 2005 with wincc advanced v11 sp2?

S7 AUTOMAN Posts: 515 Rating: (56)	Dear Experts, Is it possible to link microsoft sql sever 2005 with wincc advanced v11 sp2? if so, which microsoft sql server version should i use so that it will be compatible with both the 64 bit windows 7 OS (operator station OS) and with wincc advanced v11 sp2? (i tried it with microsoft sql server 2005(64 bit version), but i couldnt create a database nor table in it once i installed it in a 64 bit OS, whereas once i installed it in a 32 bit OS, i was able to create a Database and table in sql server management studio. Moreover once after installing sql server 2005 64 bit version in the 64 bit OS, sql server management studion wasnt even available) And how can i log datas in sql server through wincc v11 sp2 advanced in table format with the acquisition time being logged? should i use vb scripts for this purpose? Can anyone help me out with this please at the earliest

There many option depending of the WinCC version you are using. WinCC v7.0 got nice export, which is the same for all Active X controls. Next suggestion is to use WinCC ODK functions: BOOL TLGExport ( LPTSTR lpszArchivName, LPTSTR lpszFileName, PTLG_IO_BACKUP_SELECT lpibs, DWORD dwJobFlags, DWORD dwFormatFlags, PCMN_ERROR lpError ); Description Use this function to export parts of an archive. The records to be exported are selected by means of the TLG_IO_BACKUP_SELECT structure. This function is only supported by WinCC version V6 SP4 or higher as a successor of TLGBackup. This function cannot be accessed from multi-client projects. For the next funcrion you have to write data into text file manually! Declaration BOOL TLGGetArchivData ( LPTSTR lpszArchivName, LPTSTR lpszVarName, SYSTEMTIME stStart, SYSTEMTIME stStop, TLG_GETARCHIVDATA_CALLBACK lpfnCallback, PVOID lpUser, DWORD dwFlags, PCMN_ERROR lpError ); Description Reads out the archive data stored between two points of time. In contrast to TLGGetArchivDataEx, the archive tag values are made available by means of a callback function. Up to 10.000 data records may be read with one call. If there are more data records between starting time and terminating time, only the first 10,000 records will be returned. To obtain the remaining data records, add one millisecond to the time of the last data record and use it as starting time for a new call of TLGGetArchivDataEx. regards, Svetozar Yolov

For WinCC Advanced v11, you can log the data in: - TXT file - CSV file - RDB file (actually proprietary database) - Database So if you choose to use external database, you can get the data from it in Excel bay many way I see no problem here.
