Dear hdhosseini, Thanks a lot for this sharing, it really helpful! I noticed that when the FB created via SCL, it is a "Encrypt Block", I'm wandering is there a way setting to create a block as encrypt by default? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hi Stefan, Here is my question: from the video of STEP 7 assign symbolic name in scl source. I notice that every time the new function block created by compile the SCL source file, it is a FB with encrypt (the lock icon), please refer to the following: Is that mean the FB is protected(encrypt) by default? |

That is possible in 300/400 PLC's, when a block was created from a STL or SCL source. A know how protection is set by using the keyword KNOW_HOW_PROTECT in STL or SCL source. A removal of the protection requires the source. |

Hi east, like already explained by Hati, the keyword KNOW_HOW_PROTECT in a source fill will generate know-how protected blocks. You can find some useful links regarding block protection in the FAQ 'What block protection facilities are available in STEP 7 to protect the know-how of your blocks?'. Kind regards |
