Im finishing up a flying saw application (thanks for all the help people, first time SIMOTION application).

I'm using a D435-2DP/PN, version 4.3 scout.

I would like to add a simulation function that tests the configuration for the proposed cut length/line speed without the external encoder measuring system that is providing the material position and speed.

Yes, a Virtual Axis works fine.  Just need some judicious _setMaster commands and have your virtual axis interconnected to your following axis

Of course you are not testing your physical encoder interface.  We still do that during factory test using a real encoder and a drive/motor.  But for testing configurations and settings and all that other stuff, it works well.
