Is there an "autosave" or "autobackup" somewhere in TIA Portal V11 SP2?

Mine is also very slow and crashes twice a day (TIA Portal V11 SP2). Is there an "autosave" or "autobackup" somewhere in the application so I could save my projects every x minutes?

Maybe it is not ideal, but have some advantages: it could use the user intelligency to decide when is the best point to save the program. I try to have some diciplin to save reguralry my projects. It is not easy, sometimes I'm is too involved in the project that I forgot it. But, anyway it is a question of training.

I do that, too, but I was not used to this higher-than-average rate of crash. I asked about autobackup, because e.g. RSLogix 5000 has an autobackup feature (as I remember from last time I used it). I have to tell though, that crashing rate is much better now in my case (I do not know why), but the speed is still low. BR

Jens_app Gold Member Joined: 1/5/2011 Last visit: 6/15/2024 Posts: 815 Rating: (123)	Adding to the idea of creating a habbit for autosaving, you should not forget the shortkeys Ctrl+Sfor "save"and Ctrl+Shift+S for "save as". That being said, autosaving is not possible, only manual saving. Another thing available is the backup files that are automatically created by TiA portal, butthat's a dark area for me, I have no clue when TiA portal creates those backup files. My guess would beafter a TiA Portal crash, but that's just a guess... so I wouldn't rely on them. Creating the habbit of autosaving is the only option at the moment. Figure out your own system for naming your saved files. Mine is projectname_yyyymmdd_revisionno, but this can be whatever suits you best. Kind regards, Jens

Now saving a project does not take between 30 to 60 sec like before, but it is much faster so nowdays I save more frequently. Also I was able to use the backup folder created by TIA in certain cases with corrupted projects by copying the PEData files from backup to original folder. There are examples on the forum.
