Our campany doesn't have any idea about dongle they have bought a CP341 without dongle. After 3 months starting project that we would use CP341, we learned that we need a dongle:-( and now our campany doesn't allow to buy and neither customer. I have decided to add S7-1200+cm1241+switch(for profinet) to our project and it is cheaper than dongle+library for CP341. I have asked our Trading officer about dongle but she doesn't have any idea either. I think trade officer in siemans has to explain about dongle:-( When our campnay started the project, I was not working in the campany.

The problem still keeps its temperature is not fully resolved, I just reduced the price.

Is there any way using CP341 Module without dongle on Tia portal?

It is very greatful if we solve the problem. I know in this form many users also get this problem.

for your question about CP341, giving my personal opinion (in case if I'll be stay before this situation). All depends to how much data you want receive from Slave/s. It means that I'll be prepare my own MB logic with ASCII protocol. In case of only f.ex. same messages requesting for Holding registers values, it can't be very difficult way. You need create your own messages due MB request format and also know respons structure - place of Slave address, data, CRC. You need prepare your checks for received frame for sure, because of need right proper values not wrong data. On other side you have prepared instructions from Siemens so you don't need program all needed things, but need some kind of authorisation - dongle and pay for it. As you select your way. Also there is some already implemented solution by Tibi68, look to Communication conference history. In this case you need probably rework all your code because Tibi's solution use other blocks with DB probably.

I think standard experience with user communication principles is enough. You can study MB internal system also f.ex. here:

also I use their utilities for MB tests and of course my applications.

Didn't tested, but can be helpful to you. Sry is probably with dongle needed.

if you don't expect that CP341 solution without dongle (you must prepare some communication via ASCII with internal structure of MB as I've sugested), you can simply use that S7-1200 solution with some CM1241 card as RTU Master. Then you can also Exchange data between S7-300 and that S7-1200 via defined interface, question can be what interfaces are available now on that S7-300. If you have still questions, no problem. also other guys are experienced here, so we can help you if we know.
