Is there possible to install 1507S/1508S in IPC 127E?

persuit Member Joined: 8/18/2017 Last visit: 8/15/2024 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	As far as i know , IPC 127E is designed as iot device, but it have E3940 ,4GB ram,64 -128 GB ROM looks like have engough resource to run an RT system.

persuit Member Joined: 8/18/2017 Last visit: 8/15/2024 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	You are right. Official manual recommand to use IPC 227E or above for 1507s, IPC227 is also lauched as IOT device. I tried 1505s image with a cute CONGA IPC with similar hardware(E3950,I210 ,8G,128G),but failed with alarm of 'Failure with creating CPU vulume',I think this is normal as manual required a Siemens IPC. If someone have done experients with IPC127E, I plan to buy one.

persuit Member Joined: 8/18/2017 Last visit: 8/15/2024 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Finally,I buy a sencond hand 127E, it can't install the RT system. Maybe BECKHOFF C6015 (Nearly use the same hardware) is good option for the tiny cabinet use of soft-PLC.

This is because the Siemens-Hypervisor is designed for specific hardware. I think this limitation is also related to the possibility of troubleshooting. I don't think anyone at Siemens wants to be forced to take responsibility for errors caused by third-party systems. Kind regards Stefan

This is because you need to make sure that the settings on the IPC match the configuration in the TIA Portal project. This is especially true for the network interface settings. You should check the requirements listed in the user manual, or you can create a configuration file from TIA Portal and load the PC Station from that file. Kind regards Stefan
