Hello, I installed step7 V5.5SP3 Inside a virtual machine VMWARE WORKSATION V10.0(Host Windows 7, Guest Windows XP SP3). Impossible to work fine the ISO simatic protocol with step7 to card CP343-1 343-1EX21-0XE0. Step7 shows me available partners but if i try to see "Status Module" with the function "Target System, it doesn't work.

On the ohter hand, TCP/IP works properly.

In my physical machine(Windows 7), Step7 with ISO and TCP/IP works fine

All firewalls are unchecked.

I recommend to update to V5.5 SP4. With this version you can use VMware Workstation 10.0 - with SP3 I am not really sure if everything will work - I can´t find any releases for VMWare with V5.5 SP3.

Hello

do you work with "NAT" or "Bridged" in the Network Card Settings of the VM Ware. You should work with Bridged and try  with and without  "replicate physical network connection" setting.

I already tried both with and without replicate; it doesn't work.

I received note from tech support Siemens and they said that ISO protocol is not supported by virtual machines.

So i have to find another solution and use TCP/IP with VMWARE.

but do not mix up ISO and TCP/IP!

ISO is based on MAc Adress not on IP Adress.

Its a different ISO Layer.
