Issues with S7 counter values

It is displaying sometimes values bigger then 2000. As far as I know S7 counters cannot go above C#999 Are we facing a bug here? My configurations are in the attachment. And yes, the maximum value for the COUNTER datatype is 999. However, since this is a BCD value, the displayed value of 2032 could be the result of a conversion error, since it is 0x7F0. In case of a BCD conversion error, you should find a corresponding entry in the diagnostic buffer of the CPU. However, it should not be possible to write an invalid BCD value to a counter, so I recommend to contact the Siemens technical support. Kind regards Stefan

MartijnD Advanced Member Joined: 3/14/2010 Last visit: 10/3/2023 Posts: 18 Rating: (2)	Thank you for your reply, I just dropped the counter in to the screen the data type and creation of the tag just happened ;) If it is not in the manual I cannot help it. The value in the PLC is 100% correct and no diagnostic events. In the HMI the value is correct in 99 of the 100 reads. (It is a visualization, please note I am only reading here) In this particular case it shows (random) values between 2001 and 2099. In my opinion, if it is a read error from unified it should just display the last correct read. The issue only happens with counters, with integers etc. I have no issues
