Hello Experts, I want to communicate 412-5H cpu with TIM 4R-IE DNP3. On going through the manual I found that for communicating TIM 4R-IE DNP3 it require a dedicated CP 443-1 Card. So my question is whether it is mandatory to use dedicated CP 443-1 for TIM 4R-IE DNP3. because I have dedicated ports in 5H CPU. Please provide a link or answer why we require a dedicated CP Card for this module. Thank You APS

Hi, You can use onboard Ethernet ports for DNP3 using a third-party driver (full disclosure, I work for this company). I can verify that our driver runs natively on onboard Ethernet ports and/or CP 443-1 modules (or 343 if working on a 300, or 1543 on a 1500). Info on our DNP3 driver is available on our web site. Of course if you prefer a hardware solution then I believe you will need both a TIM and a CP 443. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about our implementation of DNP3. Jon |
